Patterns of Faith reads the reasoned and the spiritual together. History, science, scripture, and lived experience are usually kept in separate rooms; we bring them into the same one and look for where they line up. What keeps surfacing is a pattern — recurring rhythms in how God works, showing up across scripture, across history, and across ordinary lives. When you learn to see them, faith settles into something deeper and steadier, and truth becomes easier to recognize.
Why the two circles
Our mark is two overlapping circles. It carries an old idea: there are two ways of coming to know — the way of the mind and the way of the heart — and the richest understanding lives where they meet. An early revelation to the Prophet Joseph Smith put it plainly: the Lord speaks “in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost.” We try to honor both, and to write from the overlap.
What we believe
We believe Jesus Christ lives, that His gospel was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith, and that His Church is led by Him today through living prophets. We believe the gospel is beautiful and coherent, that honest questions are welcome inside it, and that the Spirit deepens what the mind can only begin.
The spirit of this
Nothing here replaces the scriptures, the words of the prophets, or your own prayer. We offer a lens — a way of seeing the whole — and then step back, so the confirmations that matter most can come where they always have: quietly, to you. Patterns of Faith is an independent effort and not an official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; when we describe the Church's teachings, we point to its own words at churchofjesuschrist.org.
